Killarnée Targa Rally South West

2015 Killarnée Targa South West Car Rally

Welcome to the 6th running of Killarnée Targa South West, an exciting tarmac rallying event in the Southwest of Western Australia. It’s an event that’s designed to be a fun weekend away for the crews and their teams, whilst providing valuable seat time and practise in the lead up to QUIT Targa West 2012. At the same time the people in and around Pemberton and Manjimup will be able to enjoy a colourful and engaging motor sport event right on their doorstep.

The key goal is to provide a highly enjoyable event for Classic and Modern vehicles where the whole ‘spirit of the event’ is centred on taking part and the enjoyment of the “The thrill of the open road” in a controlled environment.

The Killarnée Targa South West organising team wishes all competitors, officials and spectators a safe, and fun filled motor sport event. Remember, SAFETY is our highest priority.

Mystery Weekend

Get a group of 7 couples together and organise a Mystery weekend, staying 3 nights at the Old Picture Theatre and in Adyar Cottage.  An example organised this year was 7 couples who travelled in a self-drive bus from Perth.  They stopped off for lunch at one of the towns on the way, arriving mid-afternoon.  Only the organisers (bus driver and wife) knew where they were going and what they were going to do!

Mystery WeekendThe first night was a casserole night together in Adyar Cottage where each couple brought the prepared meal with them.  The next day they did a tour around King Trout then lunched at one of the local cafes.  In the afternoon they had a "free afternoon" for each couple so they could do what they wanted.  On the Saturday evening they ate at the Shamrock restaurant in town, having organised a set menu for the meal.

On the Sunday morning they all went on the Donnelly River Cruise.  This was followed by the tram trip into the Cascades National Park and big karri trees* The Pemberton Discovery Tours is another which is highly recommended.  Being the last night the organisers asked each couple to perform a 5 min. play that they made up themselves, e.g.  a joke or commercial.

All this was achieved for $800.00 per couple and included all costs except byo drinks.  They had a truly memorable weekend.  Why not consider it?  Arrange for one couple to plan and cost the weekend.

Mary and Graham look forward to making you welcome!
